Club Social Ride April – Gower

Our club social ride on Sunday 21st April will take riders to the wonderful loop at Gower, near Maldon, on Dja Dja Wurrung Country. Our rides are open to any gender and women are warmly welcome and encouraged to join in.

A Rocky Riders (or other AusCycling) membership is required so you are covered by insurance while riding.

Riders not holding a current membership need to sign up on the day. If you are not in a position to sign up for a full membership you can sign up for the AusCycling 4 Week Free Trial or Auscycling Lifestyle Membership for the month for $9.00.

Ride information:

Assemble at the ruins of the Old Gower School for a 9 am pedal off. Ride leaders will be Ross and Alexander. This ride is aimed at intermediate skill level riders, it’ll be about 2 hours of saddle time, and 2.5 hours all up.

The Gower singletrack is one of the area’s best kept MTB secrets. Some of the trails are quite old, and others very fresh indeed. The riding is similar to Muckleford, and yet still has a distinct feel all of its own. If you haven’t ridden there (and we know almost no-one has!) then you should definitely check it out. Flowing trails, beautiful bush, and a few tech features: it’s a great loop.

Please note this is not a skills clinic and riders must be self-sufficient with food, water and spares. You must have a well maintained mountain bike and well fitted helmet that meets Australian standards. And we have a no-drop policy to ensure no-one is left behind.

In order for us to manage riders to ride leaders ratios please purchase a free ticket via the AusCycling events portal.
