First Aid Course for Mountain Bikers

Have you had or witnessed an injury while mountain biking? Did you or your riding buddies know how to treat the injury and render the appropriate assistance? Along with your water and nutrition items, you should also carry a practical knowledge of first aid when you ride.

To assist in this goal, the Rocky Riders are holding a basic first aid session for mountain bike riders. It will cover the common types of injuries, how to deal with them, and what to carry in your pack – in other words, how to help yourself and others in the event of a mishap out in the bush. Note this is not a formal first aid certificate course. The course will be conducted by local St John’s Ambulance member, Les Vearing.

Enrolment for this 2 hour session will be restricted to 20 people, so you will need to book a spot in advance.

Date: Monday 24 July
