SUMMARY:Junior Dirt Crits Round 5
DESCRIPTION:The summer Dirt Crits series returns for 2024/25 Dirt Crits with Round Five on Thursday 5 December.\nOnce again the Crits will feature separate categories (and an earlier start time) for junior riders (3-14 years of age)\, and we encourage any young riders with a suitable bike\, a helmet and a sense of adventure to participate. The DirtCubs (ages 3-7) circuit is a 900 m loop\, while DirtMasters (ages 8-14) will race over a more varied 2.3 km circuit; both tracks can be safely navigated by riders of all abilities.\nRacing will kick off at 5:45pm and finish by 6:15pm. There is no cost for the event\, however gold coin donations will be gratefully received.\nThis season we will be racing at the Walmer Forest (Baco) trails and utilising the facilities (toilets\, picnic tables\, barbecues) at the Walmer Forest Trailhead.\nPlease register for a race or the series before 5pm on the Wednesday prior. This will make it easier for us to get the race started. There is no cost for the event\, however gold coin donations will be gratefully received.\nRegistration for the series is via the AusCycling events portal.\nMembership of the Castlemaine Rocky Riders (via AusCycling) is required for all entrants in the Dirt Crits series. We require riders to have a Race Off-Road membership as a minimum. This will provide appropriate insurance cover while competing. AusCycling has options for family memberships with a ten percent discount for two members and fifteen percent for three members.\nIf you are not in a position to sign up for a full annual membership the AusCycling 4 Week Free Trial could be a suitable option to cover the start of the Dirt Crits season.

SUMMARY:December Social Ride - Poverty Gully
DESCRIPTION:Our last social ride of the year will be an exploration of the Poverty Gully region\, including some of the historic water races. This area provides a good sample of classic Castlemaine singletrack\, along with some superb relics of the gold rush era.Meeting at the Theatre Royal at 9am.Depending on numbers and experience of riders we may be able to break the group into two to cater for a slower paced group.Either way you can expect a ride of 20 plus kms over some classic singletrack in varied terrain\, with a duration of around two and a half hours. We have a no-drop policy\, no one will be left behind.A Rocky Riders (or other AusCycling) membership is recommended so you are covered by insurance while riding. Riders without an Auscycling membership\, do so at their own discretion.
